Trail guide
Kangaroo Creek Pool via Parklands Trail and Engadine Track is about 5.8 km return from the Bottle Forest Road access at East Heathcote. Follow the unpaved Parklands Trail into Engadine Track, then descend to a natural pool on Kangaroo Creek. This is a moderate bushwalk with a clear destination, rather than a summit or lookout. Allow about 2 to 2½ hours.
The Parklands section is a wider unpaved track; Engadine Track narrows to a rough dirt path through bush. The pool sits roughly 175 m below the start, so the return climb is the main effort. Retrace the same corridor rather than continuing into the separate creek routes.
The mapped start is where Parklands Trail meets Bottle Forest Road on the East Heathcote edge. No dedicated trailhead car park was verified; check local parking signs before leaving the car. This is the Kangaroo Creek Pool reached by Engadine Track, not Karloo Pool or the separate Waterfall-side Kangaroo Pool. Dogs and other pets are not permitted in Royal National Park.
