White Pine is a primitive, tent-only campground in the Platte Plains trail system, inside the Sleeping Bear Dunes Wilderness. Its six numbered sites make this a compact woods overnight, not a drive-up stop. Choose it if you're happy carrying camping gear and want Lake Michigan close by on foot.

From the Trail's End Road trailhead, camp is about two miles along the Platte Plains trail; Lake Michigan shore is another half-mile from camp. Navigate to a trailhead, not the campground pin: this is a hike-in camp, and the pin marks the camp area rather than a road entrance. A backcountry reservation and permit plus park entrance pass are required; sites aren't assigned in advance, so choose an unoccupied numbered site when you arrive. Carry the printed permit.

What to plan forEach site allows up to four people and two tents.

Each site allows up to four people and two tents. There's a toilet and two shared fire rings; fires are limited to those rings and can be prohibited during fire restrictions. There is no potable water or trash service, so carry in water and pack refuse out. Pets, bikes and wheeled devices aren't allowed. The park requires securing food and scented items; check the permit instructions for the current food-storage setup because facility details conflict about locker availability. Mosquitoes can be heavy in warm weather.
