Trail guide
Cornisas is an advanced, guided point-to-point hike from near Estancia Pudeto to the Explora lodge. The mapped line is 4.1 mi (6.6 km) one way and takes about three hours. The official outing listing says 6 km but does not state its distance convention, so confirm which line your guide will walk.
The recorded route climbs gradually toward the Paine River, follows a relatively level stretch along the crest, then drops steeply toward the lodge. It follows natural-ground paths. Access for non-guests and parking near the start are not confirmed; arrange the guided transfer with Explora before driving to Estancia Pudeto. A recorded April hike reports strong wind on the crest, so ask about conditions before setting out.
As you climb, the views open across the Paine River and Pehoé Lake. From the upper cliffs, the Paine range and surrounding valleys fill the view. For a photo, frame the river below with the lake and massif beyond.
