Trail guide
Akamina Lake Trail is an easy out-and-back from the Cameron Lake Day Use Area to a sheltered subalpine lake. The mapped path is about 0.7 miles (1.1 km) round trip, with little climbing; plan on about 30 minutes.
In the Cameron Lake parking lot, face Cameron Lake and find the start beside the washrooms on your left. One visitor missed the lake after setting off uphill on the other side of the road, so make sure you begin on the lake-facing side. Return along the same path.
The destination is a small, sheltered lake and a quiet pause, not a long hike. Dry toilets are available at the day-use area. Dogs are welcome on the trail but must stay leashed and under control. The Akamina Parkway remains open year-round, though trail conditions change with the season.
