This is a summer-only operation. Typical 2025 hours are daily 9:00–12:00 and 1:00–4:30 from late May to early September. It’s closed fall through spring, and services across the area wind down quickly after Labor Day.

About Kennecott Visitor Center
Set inside Kennecott’s historic Blackburn School, the Kennecott Visitor Center is the nerve center for exploring the Kennecott Mines National Historic Landmark. It’s where you get oriented, talk with rangers, and connect the dots between the mine’s boomtown past and the landscapes you’re standing in.

Kennecott’s story is outsized: early 20th‑century exploration, engineering innovation, and a full-on company town that produced nearly $200 million in copper between 1911 and 1938. The visitor center is the best launch point to understand what you’re seeing before you wander the restored buildings or hike toward the Root and Kennicott Glaciers.
