Takakkaw Falls: A Short Walk to the Spray“Takakkaw Falls is coming up at the end of Yoho Valley Road, and you don't need a long hike to get close to this one. Follow the short, mostly level paved path toward the falls for the roar and cold spray.”

Trail guide
This is a 5.5 km (3.42 mi) out-and-back from Takakkaw Falls parking, following the Yoho Valley Trail to short viewpoints for Point Lace Falls and Angels Staircase Falls. Plan on roughly 1.5–2 hours. The paired outing is considered easy, but you return over the same valley approach and make a short detour for each fall; stop before the longer continuation toward Laughing Falls.
From the lot, the route follows the Yoho River through Takakkaw Falls Campground, then crosses a wooden boardwalk with views west toward President and Vice President mountains. At the signed split, take the right/east branch for the Angels Staircase viewpoint, return to the junction, then follow the west/left branch for Point Lace before heading back the way you came. The falls are on opposite sides of the river. The available map line shows the shared approach and two likely short branches, but their ends are not precisely identified; use the signs and stay on designated trails and viewpoints rather than treating the mapped endpoint as the viewing spot.
The access road to Takakkaw Falls is seasonal, generally open from mid-June to mid-October. The lot is about 17 km northeast of Field at the road’s end and often fills early on summer days and weekends. Vehicles over 7 m must reverse around tight switchbacks; trailers are prohibited. Dogs may accompany visitors when kept on leash; pick up and remove waste.
