Trail guide
The standalone Kebo Brook Trail runs about 1 mile one way, from the Kebo Brook Trailhead near Paradise Hill Road to Kebo Street by Kebo Valley Golf Club. It is a gentle, low-elevation walk through young forest, with a rocky brook crossing as its main feature. Acadia’s trail catalog lists 0.8 mile; the complete mapped line to Kebo Street is about 1 mile, which is the distance used here. Allow about 30–45 minutes one way; the rocks can slow you down. If you leave a car at the start, arrange a pickup, connect to another trail, or retrace your steps for roughly 2 miles total.
The path passes junctions for Cadillac North Ridge and Gorge Path. Stay straight at both to keep to the standalone Kebo Brook Trail. The route descends gently through the woods, then approaches the golf course and passes Kebo Mountain Trail and Stratheden Path junctions before ending at Kebo Street.
About six-tenths of a mile in, the trail crosses Kebo Brook on broad, flat stones, with similar crossings over smaller streams. There is no bridge. Uneven rocks make this a poor choice for anyone needing a smooth, accessible path, and the crossing can be harder after heavy rain.
Kebo Mountain Trail branches off from this route for a separate rocky climb. The park’s 2-mile round-trip Kebo Mountain outing includes that summit branch and returns to Cadillac North Ridge; it is a different hike from the one-way Kebo Brook Trail described here.
Acadia requires an entrance pass year-round. Dogs are allowed on leash no longer than six feet. The Park Loop Road closes from mid-December to mid-April; the park lists Kebo Street as winter access.
