Medicine Tree Trail is a closed loop of about 0.32 miles (0.5 km) from the woodpile on the Arowhon Pines grounds. Follow the Yellow Trail to its first right-hand Red Trail turnoff; that loop passes the large white pine and returns to Yellow and the woodpile. The mileage is measured from the mapped route: the operator gives no distance, so treat it as an estimate. A fast walker is told to allow about an hour; plan for about an hour or a little longer if you want to sit by the tree. This is a small, tree-centered walk, separate from the much longer Red Trail circuit toward Bear’s Nest and the Mizzy Lake route.

The lodge says its trails can be harder than the park’s trails and that forest conditions change. Keep to the colored markers: moose and deer tracks can look like a path and lead you away from the route. Carry the lodge map and tell the office your plan before setting out.

AccessThe route starts on the resort grounds at the woodpile.

The route starts on the resort grounds at the woodpile. Arowhon limits access to registered guests and meal guests with reservations, so arrange entry with the lodge; a park day-use permit alone does not establish access to its grounds.
