Sitting right off the Parkway around Milepost 316, Linville Falls Visitor Center is the launchpad for seeing the park’s most famous waterfall and the mouth of Linville Gorge. It’s where you get oriented, grab a map, and choose your route to the overlooks.

From the visitor center, well‑marked paths fan out to multiple named viewpoints: Upper Falls, Chimney View, Erwin’s View, and Plunge Basin. If you want a quieter bonus stop, Duggers Creek Falls is a short walk from the parking lot. Trails range from easy to more strenuous with stairs, rocks, and roots—plan your loop based on how much climbing you want.
