This is the classic Linville Falls hike: a well-maintained, moderate path linking a string of overlooks along the rim of Linville Gorge. It starts at the Linville Falls Visitor Center parking lot on the Blue Ridge Parkway at Milepost 316.4 and runs about 1.6 miles round trip, with short signed spurs to the overlooks. Expect a mostly gentle grade with some stairs and short steeper pitches near the viewpoints.

Gorge View looks down the Linville River as it cuts through the Linville Gorge Wilderness, while Erwin's View delivers the broad, high panorama over the falls and gorge. The overlook spurs are part of the visitor experience; the stored line keeps each spur connected and retraces its junction rather than drawing a shortcut.
