Chestoa View Trail

This is an easy, short lollipop walk from the Chestoa View parking area at Blue Ridge Parkway Milepost 320.8. Follow the paved access path to the right fork and onto the dirt trail, complete the forest loop, and return along the shared approach. The full walk from the parking-area trailhead is about 0.8 miles; the National Park Service describes the named dirt loop itself as 0.6 miles. Allow roughly 30–45 minutes, depending on time spent at the overlook and bench. The route has mild inclines, uneven dirt, roots, rocks, and stone steps (nps.gov, NPPlan).

The access path leads to a stone balcony overlooking North Cove, with views toward Table Rock and Grandfather Mountain. The forest lollipop continues into shaded woodland, with a bench and a secondary Table Rock view around the loop. The route is a compact way to combine the overlook with a quiet forest walk (nps.gov, Romantic Asheville).

The National Park Service lists parking, picnic tables, and trash receptacles at the overlook; no permanent restrooms or concessions are listed on its page. Stone steps, roots, rocks, and uneven tread require ordinary trail footwear and care. Stay on the signed route near overlook edges and drop-offs; fog or wet weather can make surfaces slick. The route is not a wheelchair- or stroller-friendly paved walk.
