A classic Parkway day-use stop, the Peaks of Otter Picnic Area sits in the woods beside Little Stony Creek near milepost 86. It’s separate from the lodge and campground, and it feels quieter—more birdsong and creek burble than traffic.
This is one of the Parkway’s prettier picnic setups: tables scattered under tall trees, the creek close by, and grills ready to fire up. It’s easy to roll in for lunch after a drive or pair it with nearby walks around Abbott Lake or hikes to the Peaks themselves.
