Primary access is the north end of the Peaks of Otter Visitor Center parking area. From the visitor center, follow the signed roughly 0.3-mile connector to the Johnson Farm Loop; no special trail permit is required.

Johnson Farm Loop is an easy historic walk to a restored 1850s mountain farmstead at Peaks of Otter. The compact loop combines a quiet forest path with the farmhouse, barn, springhouse, weaving shed, apple house, and other farm buildings.

The north end of the Peaks of Otter Visitor Center parking area is the primary access for the loop. If you park at the visitor center itself, follow the signed connector to the Johnson Farm Loop. Wear comfortable shoes for the natural surface, which can be muddy after rain. Leashed dogs are welcome; this is a hiking route, not a bike or horse trail. Building interiors and living-history programming are seasonal, so check the visitor center for current hours before planning around them.
