About Torrey Pines Grove
Set on the northeastern slopes above Becher’s Bay on Santa Rosa Island, Torrey Pines Grove protects a globally rare forest of wind‑sculpted Torrey pines. This is one of only two places on the planet where these trees grow naturally, and the island subspecies here tends to be shorter and bushier—perfectly adapted to the foggy, blustery climate.
