About Water Canyon Beach Trail
Water Canyon Beach is the easiest marked walk from Santa Rosa Island’s Bechers Bay landing: a mostly flat route from the pier to a broad, two-mile white-sand beach on the island’s northeast coast. The route crosses the historic ranch and coastal terrace before reaching the beach entrance.

This is an out-and-back walk of about 3 miles round trip from the Bechers Bay pier to the Water Canyon Beach entrance. The stored line follows the established Airstrip Road corridor for 1.30 mapped miles one way; the National Park Service rounds the visitor distance to 3 miles round trip. It is an easy route on roads and paths with generally gentle terrain, though footing may be dirt or gravel.
