Trail guide
This is a 4.1-mile out-and-back on the paved northern section of Brecksville Reservation’s All Purpose Trail, from Chippewa Creek Gorge Overlook to Station Road Bridge and back. It suits walkers who want a smooth shared-use path and a clear landmark at the turnaround. Allow about 1.5 to 2 hours. The path follows the creek corridor east toward the Cuyahoga River; the bridge is the payoff, and the return retraces the same route uphill.
The longer named path continues beyond this outing. The reservation map labels the full All Purpose Trail at 12 miles; this entry covers only the gorge-to-bridge round trip.
Start from the overlook access and take the asphalt path east beside Chippewa Creek Drive. The wooded gorge setting gives way to the more open ground around Chippewa Ford Field before the path reaches Station Road Bridge. This is a multi-use route, not a secluded footpath: bicycles and other permitted trail users share the pavement, so keep right and leave room to pass.
Station Road Bridge crosses the Cuyahoga River and links into the wider Towpath corridor. Pause to look along the river through the bridge arches, then head back the way you came. The bridge sits below the overlook, so the return includes the climb you descended on the outward leg. If you have a second vehicle, the separate bridge trailhead parking can make a shorter one-way walk possible; the distance above assumes you return to the overlook.
Use the parking area at Chippewa Creek Gorge Overlook off Chippewa Road, where the All Purpose Trail is signed. Cleveland Metroparks allows dogs and cats on all-purpose trails on a leash no longer than eight feet; take waste with you.
