Best time to go

The campground is 28 km north of the Daintree ferry and 5.8 km south of Cape Tribulation village. Low overhanging trees and tight turns rule out caravans, buses, and large or high campervans; the maximum vehicle height is 3.2 m. It closes each wet season from the Friday before Christmas to Good Friday, though weather and road conditions can shift the dates or bring extra closures.

Noah Beach Camping Area is Daintree National Park’s only national-park campground: 15 numbered sites in coastal lowland forest, about 50 m behind Noah Beach. It makes a practical base for Cape Tribulation if you want a shaded rainforest camp with a short walk to the coast. Noah Creek’s mouth is a longer 1 km walk south along the beach.

Book and pay before arrival; stays are limited to seven consecutive nights. Tent pads and parking spaces vary by site, with bollards between them, so check the dimensions before choosing. The ground is compacted gravel, and the shade limits solar charging. Non-flush composting toilets are provided. Bring your own drinking water, and don’t count on phone coverage. Use a fuel stove: open fires and generators are prohibited.

Lace monitors, or goannas, often patrol camp for food scraps. Secure food and rubbish on the provided goanna poles, and don’t feed wildlife. Crocodiles may be present in any water body, so stay away from the water’s edge; marine stingers are another coastal hazard.
