Most visitors reach the pond from Franconia Notch via Lonesome Lake and the steep, rugged Fishin’ Jimmy Trail, then continue on to Kinsman Pond Trail. For a bigger sampler, a popular ~10.4‑mile loop links Lonesome Lake → Fishin’ Jimmy → Kinsman Pond → Cascade Brook before returning to the notch. If you’re just aiming for the pond, expect a shorter out‑and‑back using Lonesome Lake and Fishin’ Jimmy.

After rain, water can run right down the corridor—think ankle‑deep rills and greasy rocks—so poles are a smart call.
