A path and steps from Loop A lead to Lake McDonald’s shore. Most campsites are not on the water, so check the site map if shoreline access matters. Flush restrooms, potable water, food-storage lockers, a dump station, and hot showers are available seasonally. Shower temperatures get mixed reports, and campers in other loops may have a walk to Loop A for showers. Two accessible unisex shower stalls are in Loop A; accessible campsites are listed in Loops A, B, and D. Check site-specific access details when booking.

Fish Creek Campground is a developed 178-site campground about 2.5 miles from Apgar Village, just off Camas Road. It is Glacier’s second-largest campground, set among old cedar and hemlock. Most sites face the forest; only some have filtered views toward Lake McDonald. It suits campers looking for a wooded base on the park’s west side, not a guaranteed lakefront site.
