History

Seasonal Status & Access

The entire complex is closed for the 2025 season for construction and improvements. It’s scheduled to reopen June 8–September 16, 2026. During the project period, Many Glacier access was restricted with a hiker shuttle; check current NPS advisories for any continuing access limits or shuttle systems before you plan.

Best Time to Visit

When it’s open (summer season), early mornings are prime for hitting trails and spotting wildlife before crowds build. If you’re in a cabin without a bath, plan showers early or late to avoid peak‑time queues. Lobby Wi‑Fi is most usable outside the late‑afternoon rush. Dinner at ‘Nell’s is easiest if you go on the early or late side.
