Virginia Falls is a waterfall in Glacier’s St. Mary Valley, reached by continuing the walk beyond St. Mary Falls. If you’re already heading to St. Mary Falls, keep going: the reward is a larger cascade and spray close to the falls. It makes a longer outing, but the extra climb is a good trade if you want the bigger waterfall.

A flat stone viewing area brings you close to the spray. The water drops over a cliff and spreads across wide, layered rock shelves below. For a photo, include those lower cascades beneath the main plunge so the picture shows the falls’ full stepped shape. Take care near the water and steep dropoffs.
