Trail guide
This is an out-and-back walk, 2.9 km return, measured as the full there-and-back distance from the carpark to the falls and home again the same way. Allow around 1.5 hours, which leaves time to stop at the water rather than rush.
From the carpark access the track heads into the gully and follows Mud Hut Creek, threading through ferny bushland the whole way. A short timber bridge with handrails takes you over the water, and the path stays easy to follow with clear tread and a mostly compacted surface. The payoff at the end is the waterfall itself, tucked into the rock with pools below, before you turn and retrace the same corridor.
Graded Grade 2, so easy to moderate in practice and fine for beginners with reasonable footing. Expect:
This is the shorter walk to the falls, not the longer route continuing up to Briggs Bluff.
Start at the Beehive Falls Carpark off Roses Gap Road. The track begins right at the carpark access, so there is no hunting around for the trailhead.
Dogs and other domestic pets are not permitted in the national park. Assistance dogs are covered by separate entry requirements, so check those in advance if that applies to you. Also prohibited: fires, horses, generators, bicycles, firearms and camping.
Two hazards worth respecting: surfaces can be slippery, especially on rock near the water and after rain, and there is a standing risk of falling trees or limbs in the bush. Wear shoes with grip and take care on the rock steps and around the pools.
