Mount Defiance Lookout

Overview

Mount Defiance Lookout is a classic quick stop on a dramatic bend of the coast near Separation Creek, about 10 km south of Lorne. A short stroll from the pull-off brings you to historic stonework that doubles as a memorial to returning diggers—so it’s a viewpoint with a story, not just a pretty photo.

There’s a steep drop beyond the stonework—keep kids close and stay behind barriers. Take care pulling back into traffic; visibility can be tight on busy days.
