Won Wondah Falls

Won Wondah Falls is a small, single-tier cascade on Henderson Creek in forest near Lorne. It’s a brief stop on the Sheoak Picnic Area walk to Henderson Falls, and I’d treat it as a pause along that walk rather than the main event: the drop is modest and the steep, wooded ravine often screens part of it.

The paired walk starts at the lower Sheoak Picnic Area car park and is described as a gentle track with small rises. It passes Won Wondah, then a giant eucalypt, and ends in a fern gully at Henderson Falls. Leave time for the second falls; the more rewarding part of this walk comes farther along.

The viewing platform looks down into a steep ravine, where branches can hide much of the cascade. Frame the narrow flow with the surrounding trees and dark rock rather than expecting a broad, open waterfall view. The falls are best seen from the platform; getting down to the creek is not a straightforward extension of the stop.
