Redstreak Campground: A Base Above Radium“Redstreak Campground is coming up on the hillside above Radium Hot Springs. I'd choose it as a developed base for park drives and walks: campers have drinking water, flush toilets and showers.”

Trail guide
Letwilc7úl̓ecw Loop is a 1 km interpretive circuit through the fire-restored meadow beside Redstreak Campground. It is an easy, short walk for a closer look at this open landscape and signs about Secwépemc plant knowledge. It is a compact stop rather than a substantial hike.
Allow about 30 minutes if you want time for the signs. Parks Canada also has an older page estimating 20 minutes, while its day-hike table gives 30. Official descriptions do not specify the surface or detailed turns. If surface or accessibility matters, verify before going.
The Shuswap Band community chose the name Letwilc7úl̓ecw, translated as “getting better place” or “healing place” in Secwepemctsín. The signs connect this place with Secwépemc plant knowledge and the handbook Styel̓ép - Come Full Circle, which shares knowledge from Elders and Knowledge Keepers and documents 23 plants. You may find plants such as fireweed, soopolallie and Rocky Mountain juniper among the examples. Leave plants where they grow; Parks Canada cautions that plant medicine can be harmful when used incorrectly.
Before 2001, conifers and moss covered the area where the loop now passes. As part of the wider Redstreak restoration, Parks Canada mechanically thinned 114 hectares south of the campground in winter 2002–03, then lit the first prescribed burn in spring 2005. Low-intensity burns continue every five to ten years. The work maintains native grassland and plant habitat, supports bighorn sheep wintering and migration habitat, provides habitat for American badgers, and reduces wildfire risk near the campground and Radium Hot Springs. Those animals use the broader area; sightings on this short loop are not guaranteed.
From the Redstreak Campground entrance, take the first right; the parking lot is on the right. Parks Canada gives those directions but does not say whether day hikers need a campground pass or registration. Check the day-use access rule before driving into the campground. Dogs are allowed on leash.
