Parking

No dedicated parking at the start. Use Keswick town car parks and begin at the bus station outside Booths. Portinscale has only limited on-street parking, so parking in Keswick and returning by bus works best.

Safety

Includes pavements beside roads, a short minor-road section, and a suspension footbridge. Take care at crossings, expect the bridge to feel bouncy and narrow when busy, and keep dogs close near livestock and traffic. Riverside fields can be wet or muddy after rain.
