This is an approximately 4 km one-way walk from Garawarra Farm Carpark to the Garie Beach end of the Coast Track, usually about 1½ hours. Arrange a pickup near Garie Beach; walking back to your car makes it an 8 km out-and-back. It’s a good way to get a steep forest-to-coast change of scene without tackling the whole coastal track.

Down Burgh RidgeThe trail leaves the farm through tall gums and angophoras, then drops steeply down Burgh Ridge.

The trail leaves the farm through tall gums and angophoras, then drops steeply down Burgh Ridge. The upper path is unpaved, with boardwalk sections lower down. Stop on the descent for the panoramic view of the headlands and ocean. This is the walk’s steepest part; it eases once you reach the Coast Track.

Follow the coast northAt the junction, follow the Coast Track north toward Garie.

At the junction, follow the Coast Track north toward Garie. The scenery opens from forest into coastal scrub and headlands; the tread is uneven and includes sandy or rocky patches. Around Little Garie, the track passes a group of historic beach shacks. At the junction, the other direction leads toward Burning Palms, so keep north for Garie.

Finish at Garie BeachThe mapped walk ends at the Garie approach to the beach, close to the surf club and sand.
