Trail guide
Kabetogama Lake Overlook Trail is an accessible 0.4-mile out-and-back from the third parking area on Meadwood Drive. It crosses pine forest to a bench with Kabetogama Lake framed by trees. Plan 10 to 30 minutes. This is a good pick when you want an easy lake view without taking on a longer hike.
The path is about four feet wide and surfaced in crushed gravel. It rises a little near the start, then continues through the pines to the viewpoint. The 0.2-mile leg to the overlook and the same path back make up the full round trip.
The bench is the payoff: lake water and wooded shoreline seen between the pines, rather than a wide-open panorama. Leave some trunks in the frame if you take a photo; they’re what make this view distinctive.
The trailhead is at the corner of the third lot toward the Ash River Visitor Center, beside the lot’s single accessible parking space. The route to the overlook is listed as accessible. Pets aren’t allowed on park trails; service animals are permitted.
