Killarney Lodge

Killarney Lodge is a family-run, seasonal lodge on a private peninsula on Lake of Two Rivers, reached from Highway 60 at km 33.2. Its one- and two-bedroom cabins sit at the water’s edge, each with its own canoe. Choose it for an overnight stay that puts paddling and meals in the same place; it is less suited to an unplanned drop-in, since most facilities are for guests and public dining takes a reservation.

Guests can use the lodge’s private beach, kayaks, paddleboards and float dock, then return to a cabin deck or the shared Guest Cabin. The Guest Cabin has a fireplace, games, books, tea and coffee, and Wi-Fi. These are lodge amenities for overnight guests; access for day visitors is not established.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included for overnight guests, with picnic lunches and cabin service also offered. Non-guests can reserve lunch or dinner, so call ahead rather than counting on a spontaneous meal stop. The lodge lists vegetarian and vegan choices at each meal, plus dairy-free alternatives and gluten-free bread; let staff know about dietary needs.

Burt and Sylvia Moore leased the site in 1933, and the main lodge was completed in 1935. Grandma Moore cooked on a wood stove; early customers included power and road crews during the week and families driving from Huntsville for Sunday dinner. The Miglin family acquired the lodge in 1984 and still runs it. The original log dining room and its fireplace remain part of the experience.

The stay is outdoors-first, and some guests find the cabins small or basic. Killarney Lodge sits on the Highway 60 corridor, and some visitors report traffic noise at parts of the property. If quiet or room size matters to you, ask about cabin location and layout before booking.
