Balanced Rock Overlook is a viewpoint on Black Canyon’s North Rim, reached by a short, unpaved path. A distinctive boulder near the rim appears to balance above the canyon, with the Gunnison River far below. If you’re already driving North Rim Road, it’s a worthwhile short stop for a closer look at the canyon’s depth.
