Hiking Round walking track

A compact loop with plenty of stepsRound walking track is a 1.

Round walking track is a 1.2 km loop from Katoomba Falls Kiosk, taking about 45 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes. It is Grade 3, with a well-formed, signposted path, but many steps and short steep sections make it more tiring than the distance suggests. Keep to the Round track markers: Furber Steps is a separate, longer route that continues farther into the valley.

From the plateau into the gorgeThe circuit alternates between cliff-top paths and a shaded rainforest gully.

The circuit alternates between cliff-top paths and a shaded rainforest gully. Reids Plateau opens to views of Katoomba Falls before the steps descend into the gorge. A short spur reaches the plateau viewpoint; return to the main path to continue the loop.

Three viewpoints, three different viewsVanimans Lookout takes in both Katoomba Falls and the Three Sisters.

Vanimans Lookout takes in both Katoomba Falls and the Three Sisters. Farther along, Juliet's Balcony looks over Witches Leap. In spring, new fern growth brushes the track, while rosellas and lorikeets move through the canopy. From Juliet's Balcony, look back toward Witches Leap and the sandstone cliffs for the defining waterfall view.
