About Humpback Rocks Visitor Center

This is the Parkway’s north-end hub: a compact visitor center with helpful rangers, a small exhibit hall, and quick access to the Mountain Farm—an outdoor cluster of 19th‑century farm buildings you can wander on your own. It’s a natural stop before or after tackling the nearby Humpback Rocks hike.

If the lot is full, continue 0.2 miles to Humpback Gap parking.
Check seasonal hours; the exhibits and gift shop aren’t open year-round.

Trail access (read this if you’re hiking)

The famous Humpback Rocks viewpoint is a short, steep climb. Most hikers start 0.2 miles south at Humpback Gap parking, which usually makes the hike more straightforward. Expect roughly 740 feet of climbing and a busy trail in peak seasons. If the visitor center lot is packed, just continue to Humpback Gap and circle back here afterward.
