Guide
Emmagen Creek is a rainforest creek and swimming-hole stop on the Bloomfield Track, about five kilometres north of Cape Tribulation. A short path from the crossing follows the creek to rocky pools; visitors describe a fork leading to different creek areas. It makes sense as a pause on the drive rather than a destination to detour for on its own.
The draw is the creek under the rainforest canopy. Reports differ on the pool’s depth and condition, and local advice about swimming here conflicts. Check current local guidance before entering the water.
The Bloomfield Track is a partly sealed 4WD route with steep stretches and natural creek crossings. Heavy rain can make it impassable, so check the weather and road status before setting out. Trailers, campervans and caravans aren’t suitable for the route.
