Parking

Use the primary Mixed-Use Trailhead, one mile south of the entrance station. Follow the junction maps to Miner’s Point and the Upper Dark Horse fork. This record’s 1-mile round trip starts at that fork and does not include the network approach.

Safety

The east-rim system is remote; the park calls for basic route-finding and notes spotty cell service. Bikers share the trail, and the return climbs the roughly 100 feet lost on the way to the viewpoint.

It’s a tidy add-on if you’re already exploring the east-rim trail network. The mile here doesn’t include the longer approach to the junction.
