Best time to go
A dry morning gives you the easiest footing and the best chance of a clear view. After rain, the waterfalls are more dramatic, but the rocks and path demand more care. Early or late in the day usually brings softer light across the valley and a quieter feel on the wooded approach. The summit is worth lingering over, even though the visible ruins are fragmentary rather than castle-like.
