Cumberland River: The Walk to Jebb's Pool“Cumberland River is ahead, with the walk to Jebb's Pool starting at the visitor car park. I'd choose the three-kilometre return walk for its shaded gorge, low cascades and rock shelves.”

Trail guide
The Cumberland River–Jebb’s Pool Walk is a 3 km (1.86 mi) return out-and-back from Cumberland River Camping Reserve to Jebb’s Pool. Allow about 1.5 hours. The first roughly 400 m passes through the camping reserve, then the track narrows and follows the river between craggy gorge walls. It’s a short walk with a satisfying pool at the end, though the crossing makes river levels part of the decision.
The uneven dirt-and-rock track has a stepping-stone river crossing about 950 m from the car park; Jebb’s Pool is less than 500 m beyond it. The grade is generally mild, but the rough tread and crossing make this more than a paved stroll. Do not attempt the crossing when the river is high. Rocks near the pool can be slippery when wet. The mapped walk ends at Jebb’s Pool; Cumberland Falls is farther upstream on a longer extension.
The pool sits below low cascades and broad rock shelves, with tall eucalypts, Blackwood and tree ferns on the steep banks. It’s a good place to pause or swim. Along the way, watch for Peregrine Falcons; the gorge also has Golden Whistlers and Eastern Yellow Robins, among other birds.
