Route overviewThe standard route is about 22 km one way to the Sydney Vallance Hut, or roughly 44 km/27.
The standard route is about 22 km one way to the Sydney Vallance Hut, or roughly 44 km/27.3 miles out and back. The first 12 km follows an old fire road to Lower Fryatt Campground (#34), where bicycles are permitted. The trail then climbs through forest to the open U-shaped valley and Brussels Campground (#35), follows Fryatt Lake to the headwall area, and ascends a very steep roughly 200 m headwall to the upper valley and hut.
