Caution

Stehekin Flash Flood and Debris Flow Hazard

Stehekin remains listed as a flash flood and debris flow hazard area. NPS warns that the area is prone to flooding, especially in a post-fire environment, and says flood-related hazards persist. See: Current conditions | Road conditions | Post-fire safetyOfficial details

Closure

Active Fire Closures and Burned-Area Hazards

North Cascades National Park’s Fire Closures page still lists active closures from the Border 1 Fire and Luna Fire, plus other long-term fire-related closures. Affected trails, camps, boat-in sites, and cross-country zones remain closed, and burned areas can stay hazardous for years due to unstable terrain, falling debris, hazard trees, and debris flows.Official details

Information

Stehekin Landing Services Remain Limited

Operations at Stehekin Landing are still limited because flood damage left the wastewater system inoperable. North Cascades Lodge at Stehekin is not offering public lodging, food, retail, fuel, laundry, or showers this season; Lakeview and Purple Point Campgrounds remain open. Postal service, ferry service, and private shuttle/tour operators continue to operate, and potable water plus vault toilets are available at the open campgrounds. Full public services have not yet been restored. Sources: current conditions, NPS news release.Official details

Caution

Campfires and the ignition of wood, briquettes, and other fuels in fire pits, fire pans, and barbecue grills are banned in all portions of the North Cascades National Park Service Complex; propane fire pits are also prohibited. See the current conditions and NPS news release.Official details
