Trail guide
Deer Creek Loop is a quarter-mile circuit on the North Cascades Environmental Learning Center campus, just inland from Diablo Lake. It winds beside Deer Creek near Deer Creek Shelter and takes about 15 minutes, making it a simple, short stroll while you are already on campus.
The route bends around the creek-side shelter area and returns to its starting crossing. Water, the bridge and the forested setting are the main things to notice; keep to the short circuit, since other campus paths lead away toward longer walks. An earlier campus map marked the loop ADA-accessible, but the current path and bridge condition have not been confirmed.
The Learning Center is a residential field campus. Its current visitor information emphasizes programs and group events but does not clearly say whether casual day visitors may walk the grounds. Confirm access with the Institute before driving in. The campus parking lot is at the west end of the grounds.
