Pass Mountain Overlook is a roadside viewpoint at mile 30.1, 2,460 feet above sea level. Its westward view takes in Kemp Hollow and Neighbor Mountain, with Luray below. It’s worth a brief stop for a broad valley view; a wayside exhibit adds some context. The similarly named Pass Mountain Loop starts separately at Panorama, mile 31.6.
The nearest slopes drop into Kemp Hollow, with Neighbor Mountain and the valley beyond. The town of Luray sits low in the view. For a photo, include the closer ridge and the lower valley together; a tight crop of one ridge loses the distance that makes this overlook distinctive.
