Pass Mountain Overlook is a classic Skyline Drive pullout in the park’s Central District, just north of Thornton Gap (US‑211) around mile 31–32. It’s the kind of quick stop that rewards you immediately—roll in, step out, and you’re looking across the Shenandoah Valley.
Expect broad, photogenic valley views with layered Blue Ridge ridgelines. It’s an easy win if you’re road‑tripping Skyline Drive and want a clean, open vantage without a hike.
If you want to stretch your legs, the Pass Mountain Loop starts from the nearby Panorama parking area at mile 31.6. It’s a convenient combo: take in the overlook, then head to Panorama for the loop that ties in the Appalachian Trail and Pass Mountain Fire Road.
