Parking

Use the Silver Run parking lot. From the Beartooth Ranger District office, go north on US 212 for 0.3 mile, turn west onto West Fork Road and continue 2.8 miles, then stay left and follow signs for 1.6 miles to the lot. Cross the bridge to park; walk briefly up Forest Road 2476 to the trail on the right. The lot has ample parking, space for horse trailers, a vault toilet, and is plowed in winter.

Safety

The three loop options can be easy to mix up at junctions. Use a route map to avoid unintentionally extending a shorter outing to 4.5 or 5 miles.
