From the Beartooth Ranger District office in Red Lodge, take US 212 north 0.3 mile, then turn left onto West Fork Road. After 2.8 miles, keep left at the large curve and continue 3.1 miles to the lake on your right. Open day-use parking is beside the picnic area; no fee.

Safety

West Fork Road closes annually Dec 2-Apr 14, so the lake is not reachable by car then. Only about half the loop is described as wide hard-surface; confirm with the ranger district if you need a continuous barrier-free route.
