Overview
Princes Rock Lookout is a historic parapet-style viewpoint reached by a walking track from Wentworth Falls picnic area. It looks across Wentworth Falls and Jamison Valley toward Kings Tableland and Mount Solitary. This is a worthwhile stop if you want to see the falls from close by; allow time for the steps on the way back up.

Guide
The falls sit to the left when you face the view, with Kings Tableland and Mount Solitary beyond. Keep the sandstone cliff in the left of a landscape frame to give the valley depth, with the distant ridges stretching across the view. Fog can hide the falls and ridges, so the payoff depends on what the weather leaves visible.
Sightseers have followed this route since the late 1890s. Old heritage-designed water fountains still mark the approach, and the lookout itself is known for its distinctive parapet. The exact date it was built, and the origin of its name, are not recorded in the sources checked.
The formed track is 1.8 km return, graded 3, with gentle hills and many steps; allow 30 minutes to an hour. It descends from the picnic area, so the return means climbing back up. It is not step-free. Pets are not permitted in the national park, apart from certified assistance animals.
Begin at Wentworth Falls picnic area, at the end of Falls Road. The picnic area has paved parking, flush toilets, drinking water and picnic tables; these facilities are at the start, not beside the lookout. Parking can be limited on busy weekends, so leave extra time to find a space.
