Overview

This is a short, family-friendly circuit in the Wentworth Falls precinct that packs in classic Blue Mountains scenery. At roughly 1.1 miles (about 1.8 km) for the full loop, it’s a quick win if you want waterfalls and a taste of the valley vistas without a big effort.

What You’ll See

The headline is Weeping Rock, where Jamison Creek sheets over a broad sandstone overhang and “weeps” into a ferny grotto—refreshing on warm days and especially photogenic after rain. Along the way you’ll pass Queen’s Cascades and stroll through lush eucalyptus forest with ferns and occasional wildflowers. Lookouts are close by: Jamison Lookout is near the start, and a short side trip to Fletchers Lookout serves up dramatic views over Wentworth Falls and the cliff line.

Trail Notes

Expect a formed bush track with stone steps and some uneven sections. It’s generally easy to moderate with short, steeper stair runs but mostly gentle grades. Wayfinding is straightforward—junctions are signed and there are maps at the trailhead. Facilities (toilets, shelters, benches) are near the picnic area and lookouts. Due to steps and natural surfaces, it isn’t suitable for prams or wheelchairs.

Best Time to Hike

Year-round works here. Autumn and spring bring comfortable temps and greenery; summer can be hot and busier, so start early and bring water. After rain, flows are stronger and the setting turns extra lush—but expect wet, slippery rock and steps. Winter often adds moody mist (great atmosphere, take care underfoot).

Extend or Swap

If you want more than a sampler, it’s easy to bolt on Princes Rock for wider valley views, or continue on nearby Overcliff–Undercliff. Coming by train? You can reach the precinct via the Charles Darwin Walk when open, turning this into a car-free outing.
