Overview
Rocket Point lookout is a fenced rocky platform high above Wentworth Falls, reached on foot from Wentworth Falls picnic area. It gives you an overhead angle on the waterfall and a broad view across Jamison Valley, so it’s a good extra stop if you’re already doing the falls walk. The circuit is 2.4 km, Grade 3, and about 45 minutes to 1½ hours.

Guide
From the picnic area, the path drops to Queens Cascade, crosses the top of the falls on stepping stones, then climbs steeply through fern and moss before opening into heath. Parking at Wentworth Falls picnic area serves as the walk’s starting point. Damp track sections can be slippery; visitors have also reported strong wind around the exposed lookout.
From the platform, the main drop of Wentworth Falls is off to the right; turn the other way for Jamison Valley and Sublime Point toward Leura. For a phone photo, include some valley beyond the falls to show the height of the drop. The waterfall can be more powerful after rain.
The walk leaves the lush, fern-lined area around the cascade and climbs into heath. Spring brings color to the heath, and rainbow lorikeets and rosellas are among the birds to look for in the forest along the route.
