It’s a short stroll from the Wentworth Falls Picnic Area to cliff‑edge viewpoints over the tiered Wentworth Falls and the vast, forested Jamison Valley. It’s popular for a reason—world‑class scenery with minimal effort.

Getting There & Facilities

Start at Wentworth Falls Picnic Area, which has car and bus parking, toilets, picnic tables and barbecues—handy if you want to linger before or after your walk. Coming by train? You can walk from Wentworth Falls station via Wilson Park and Darwins Walk (about 2 km) to reach the area on foot.

Trail Notes & Safety

The first section to the cliff‑top lookouts is easy walking. If you push on to the closer, cliff‑edge views of Fletchers Lookout, expect a stair descent and exposure near the cliff tops. Tracks can be slippery after rain, and fog can occasionally wipe out the views. No dogs on national park bushwalks.

Best Time to Visit

Aim for clear days to make the most of the vistas. Mornings tend to be quieter; weekends and holidays are predictably busy. After rain, the waterfall puts on a show, but stairs and rocks will be slick—bring good footwear and take your time.

Wildlife

You’re in classic Blue Mountains bush, so keep an ear out for birdlife—cockatoos, rosellas and even lyrebirds are possible. A small pair of binoculars pays off while you linger at the railings.
