Wentworth Falls Lookout

Wentworth Falls Lookout is a named viewpoint on the main path between Jamison Lookout and Fletchers Lookout, beside Wentworth Falls picnic area. The sandstone escarpment opens over the forested Jamison Valley. If the waterfall is your focus, continue downhill: Fletchers Lookout is around 200 steps below and gives the closer view of the 100 m falls. For a photo, include the cliff edge and distant ridges together; the sandstone rim gives the valley depth.

The Weeping Rock Circuit is a 1.6 km loop from the picnic area, about an hour and Grade 3. It links the lookouts, the top of the falls and Weeping Rock, where Jamison Creek spills over a rock overhang. A shallow pool at the top of the falls has stepping stones. Expect stairs and uneven ground on the longer route, and take care around wet creek rocks.

Drive from the Great Western Highway along sealed Falls Road to the picnic area; the road is suitable for 2WD. Parking is here, with overflow along Falls Road, and spaces can be limited on weekends and holidays. Picnic tables, barbecues, drinking water and flush toilets are at the picnic area. There are no bins, so take rubbish with you. Conservation Hut cafe is about 800 m away. The picnic area is rated easy access and has designated accessible parking; the full circuit is listed as not wheelchair accessible.

Nearby Darwin's Walk follows a route Charles Darwin walked in 1836. Around the picnic area, banksias and gum trees provide birdwatching; the park lists sulphur-crested cockatoos and peregrine falcons among possible sightings.
