Princes Rock walking track is an out-and-back from Wentworth Falls picnic area to the historic lookout above Wentworth Falls. The mapped line is about 0.8 km return (0.5 mi); plan for 30 minutes to an hour. Published distance figures conflict: one gives 1.8 km return, while the route map and connected track line support a much shorter walk. Check the track sign at the picnic area if the exact distance matters. The formed route is clearly marked, with gentle slopes and many steps, so it is easy to follow but not step-free.

The track winds down from the picnic area toward the escarpment, then descends a run of steps to Princes Rock. You'll return the same way, climbing those steps back up. Old water fountains along the path are worth a look for their heritage design. Bring drinking water, a hat and sunscreen.

What you see from Princes RockThe route ends at a parapet-style historic lookout.

The route ends at a parapet-style historic lookout. Wentworth Falls and Kings Tableland lie to the left, while Mount Solitary rises from Jamison Valley. For a phone photo, include some of the sandstone edge with the forested valley below to show the depth of the view. Longer walks continue through the Wentworth Falls area, but they are separate routes and are not part of this short outing.
