Trail guide
A circular loop of 5 km (3.1 miles) starting and finishing at Coed Graigddu Car Park, near Trawsfynydd. Allow about 1 hour at a steady pace. It is rated leisurely, 3/10, and suits anyone with a reasonable level of fitness.
Leave the car park along the gravel road and bear left at the first junction. The track passes Graigddu Isaf and its farm buildings, crosses a bridge, then runs on through the plantation. Take the signed turn toward Pistyll Gwyn, pass the small waterfall, and return from the T-junction to the car park.
This is one of the quieter walks in the area, so you may well have long stretches to yourself.
The route includes unsurfaced and undulating rural paths and tracks. The park authority recommends walking boots and waterproof clothing.
Dogs are allowed on this public footpath route. There are animals near Graigddu Isaf, so keep dogs under close control and on a short lead around livestock or wildlife.
Bwlch Drws Ardudwy starts from the same area and is the longer, more demanding option. Graigddu Woods is the shorter of the two and the better choice for a relaxed hour on foot.
