INFO

Intermittent Lehman Caves closures may occur during lighting project

Lehman Caves tours are available, but intermittent closures may still be required while the park completes the new lighting system. - The project replaces aging cave lighting because parts for some cave systems are no longer manufactured and sections of the cave are forced to go dark as components fail. - 30-minute accessible, 60-minute Lodge Room, and 90-minute Grand Palace tours are available. Reservations are available on Recreation.gov up to 30 days in advance; same-day walk-up tickets may be available as staffing permits at the Lehman Caves Visitor Center starting at 8 a.m. PST. Check current project impacts and cave-tour status before traveling.

Stage II fire restrictions prohibit outdoor fires and smoking

Stage II fire restrictions are active throughout Great Basin National Park because of extreme fire danger. - Do not use campfires, charcoal grills, or smoke outdoors anywhere in the park. - Gas- and liquid-fueled stoves are permitted. Extinguish permitted fires with water until embers and coals are entirely out and cold. - Fires are never allowed above 10,000 feet; do not build your own fire ring or cut live trees or snags for firewood. - Do not park over grass or shrubs tall enough to touch your vehicle’s underside or drag chains from your hitch. Check current fire conditions before traveling.
