Guide
Reach the island by private boat, canoe, or kayak. Kayaks and canoes can use slips at the shelters; the dock is usually 2 to 5 feet deep, so check clearance for your boat. An advance overnight permit is required. The small-party campsites cannot be reserved, and stays are limited to three nights from June 1 through Labor Day. July through September can be crowded at docks and small-party campgrounds, so keep a backup overnight plan.
A seasonal composting toilet and seasonal nonpotable water are listed for the campground, and food lockers are available year-round. There is no potable water or camp store, so bring drinking water and food. Uneven ground and inaccessible facilities make this a poor fit for wheelchair users.
